We are looking to recruit a Member Service Assistant to be based at our Leigh branch. This is a great opportunity for someone with excellent customer service skills to join a strong, growing organisation.

Unify Credit Union is a community savings and loan co-operative with branches in Wigan, Leigh, Chorley and Leyland. We are a Real Living Wage employer and pride ourselves on being a ‘family friendly’ organisation.

Main Duties

• Assist in opening and closing of premises
• Be responsible for taking counter payments from members and updating records correctly
• Dealing with members face to face and by telephone
• Completion and processing of all paperwork according to policies and procedures
• Assist members, where necessary, completing paperwork
• Undertake general admin duties
• Responsible for cash taken and balancing at the end of the day

Job Specification Requirements

There is an expectation that the short listed candidate will meet the requirements below:-

Essential

Excellent literacy and numeracy skills Customer service experience
Cash handling experience
Ability to meet strict deadlines and targets
IT skills
Good Interpersonal skills
Flexible working

Desirable Criteria

Previous credit union experience or similar financial organisation
Awareness of financial inclusion issues
Full clean driving licence
Own transport

30 HOURS PER WEEK

Monday to Friday and Saturdays on a rota basis

£10.90 PER HOUR

£17,004 per annum. Contributory pension scheme

28 DAYS ANNUAL LEAVE

Pro rata inclusive of bank holidays
