Tastebuds Community Garden

Blog Created: August 13, 2020

In June we launched our Community Garden project at Platt Bridge Community Zone, funded via Wigan Council.

We are looking to support local people in Abram Ward to get involved in food growing, with all our food grown forming our menu inside the Cafe. Thanks to Harold Baxter and Ricky Parkinson, two of our local residents for bringing your fruit and veg to our Cafe, all grown locally.

The first batch of potatoes grown in our community garden at Platt Bridge Community Zone are now being placed on the menu, one of our dishes this week is a Potato Salad.

If you would like more information on how to get involved, please message us on tastebudswigan@outlook.com

Are you someone or have you identified someone who might benefit from becoming involved with WLCC or any of our initiatives such as Made in Wigan?

There are various ways that you can get in touch to take things forward.

It may be that you want to make contact to first find out if there really is a ‘fit’.

You may want to speak on the phone, come and visit us on behalf of someone, or maybe you’d like to bring someone along for an initial chat.

Whichever route you prefer we can accommodate.

First things first though, share some brief details and we’ll be back in touch!
